Friday I will be publishing a Carnival of Catastrophic financial advice, where I asked fellow financial bloggers to send me in their worst financial advice story, the stories are interesting, but no one bares their souls as I did a few weeks back in Worst Financial Advice Given Ever .

I guess that might be a way to draw more traffic is to create a real Carnival and then use that to draw more traffic to the web site? Another thing on the TO DO list for the web page.

Friday or Monday I will publish my monthly income statement, such as it is.

Still no fixes for this theme or the UBD advert rotator.

I am taking another concerted shot at the Carnivals to see if I can pull in more readership and more interest in the Canadian Financial Rants blog. I’ll aim for some off the beaten path Carnivals as well, but for now I’ll concentrate more on the Financial side of things as well. Seem to be plateau’ed around 300 readers a day and 70 RSS readers, need to break through soon, or win the lottery, so that I don’t care any more (not sure which is more likely right now).

Yesterday was my biggest day on Adsense for clicks through (can’t comment on relative income), yet I am not clear as to WHY that might be the case. Lu Lu Lemon does seem to be a big search request that is filtering through my site, due to it’s impending IPO and the lack of information about it on the web, so I am reaping some benefits from that. Nervousness about inflation and interest rates in Canada is my other big search funnel, so I guess I have two winner keywords there. The Smith Manoeuvre is my other big keyword, and that suggests I need to write a couple more articles on that “shell game” as well. Better put on my mining helmet, because I smell GOLD in the hills!

Triumphantly returning from the Provincial championships, gold medal in hand, I am back, dear reader (no not my gold medal, I am far past those capabilities, my daughters now are both holders of Gold Medals). I was always impressed with this kind of stuff and thought how expensive they are, however, after convening a tournament and finding out just how cheap all this is, there is a little bit of tarnish (but still, it is the actual achievement that is to be celebrated, not necessarily any tangible reward from it). A very proud parent.

A couple of my postings have made it into the world of Carnivals:

• The Carnival of Debt Reduction #85 is being host by Money, Matter and More Musings where they mention my Rant about Pay Day Loans.

Well one posting at least, thought I had other ones, but that other e-mail was a duplicate. I will have a few other postings mentioned later in the week, I hope.

I spoke to a few of the folks who work at the Hilton Hotel London, and they mentioned to me the importance of sending a “good job” e-mail to their bosses, because they do get “atta boy” points for that, so I will be sending one of those out, after I finish a few other things. Remember to thank the people who make your lives simpler or easier!
