PFBlogs.org ? Skaffe.com ?

So I actually have tried two different “traffic generator” sites, and haven’t really seen a lot of “love” from the first one. I pay $5/month to PFBlogs.org for them to announce my Canadian Financial Opinions entries, however they aren’t even in my top 10 for referrals:

Yahoo Sucks

Not really, but I was wondering if I might get their attention with that posting. I now have google on line and checking my site and such, so that is great, but I am getting next to no traffic from Yahoo. I have registered with the Yahoo utilities, and have got my sites verified so [...]

Moral Quandry

So this one is an interesting question about advertising, and where do I draw the line. A Pay Day Loan site has approached me to advertise on my personal finance blog. I am loath to accept their money because I really think the entire industry is a modern day version of the Loan Shark (and [...]

Completely off topic: Here it Goes Again

Now if I could figure out how to make a video like this and then make money off advertising it, man, I’d be rich!

Yahoo Back In Line

OK, so I figured out what was “wrong” with my site claim with Yahoo, the identifying meta tag was too far down in the template and got lost by the robots, that were doing the authentication. I moved the tag to the top of the template, and suddenly my financial site Canadian Financial Opinions is [...]

Problems with Yahoo Now

So now that I seem to have remedied my issues with Google Search Engines for now, I am trying to figure out why Yahoo is not sending much love my way. Interestingly, I cannot seem to authenticate my site on their site management software (yet I can for this site?), so I am trying again, [...]

Where is Pingoat?

Pingoat the site I ping when I update my postings, seems to have gone off line for some reason, which I hope is only temporary. Since I use Blogspot, I don’t have much faith in their “pings” to other folks, so I ran pingoat to tell folks about new content on Canadian Financial Opinions, so [...]

Google Numbers Rising

This heartens me, more and more references from Google and still a very good 400 hits yesterday, so things are humming along nicely, just need to keep stoking the furnace a bit more to get over the hump to 1000 hits in one day (never had that happen yet).
Careful about naming links now as well, [...]

Kowa Bunga: Over 400 hits

OK, so my troubles seem to have been remedied for now, as I am now back to getting over 400 hits the past two days total, it seems my Federal Budget Analysis posting was quite popular as well, so hopefully that is on the Google index to find things.
I am still toying with if I [...]

Google back on line?

My latest google analytics seems to suggest that Google is putting me back on their lists, with google associated visits up to 48 now, up from ZERO last week.
This is a good thing, and I have put a few articles into a few “different” carnivals just to get some new traffic through my site, and [...]
