Traffic Up, and Lousy Pay Back
This site has had a busy week with a tremendous day of over 300 hits on Sunday for no apparent reason, which is interesting, if not confusing. If I am to believe the statistics I have seen this is an interesting trend, but more likely than not an attack from a “scraper” or something like [...]
RSS Feeds?
Seems like the RSS feeds on Canadian Personal Finance Opinions has gone a bit squirrely lately, if my Adsense counters are to be belived. The Feedburner counter on the site continues to show very low-ish numbers but I am seeing over 350 RSS feed page displays on my Adsense counters, so this is quite intriguing [...]
Readership Up This Week
The readership at Canadian Personal Finance Opinions is up sharply this past week, which may well be due to the current black economic world we are living in, but if it makes me money, I guess it is ok by me. Lost 1 more advertiser on my Text Link Ads list, which means less income [...]
Page Rank of 2/10
This is quite funny because now both my sites have this page rank, including this site. I am astounded to see that somehow this simple little “on line notebook” is actually ranked at 2/10, while my Canadian Personal Finance Blog which has thousands of links and such is also 2/10 (but then again, so is [...]
Advertising Rates too high?
So last week, I had an inquiry about putting a link on my web page, from a UK advertiser, I quoted my current rates, it was paid, no fuss, no muss, no bother, and the link is now on my Financial web site.
Yesterday I got another e-mail asking about rates, I see it is a [...]
Google Chrome
I installed it, just to see what all the hullabaloo was about, seems OK. Installed pretty quickly, stole all the information it could from IE, but didn’t seem to know about Firefox, or care about it? Hmm…
Shopping list I’d like to see:
Add ins like firefox that are integrated Google tools like Adsense, Adwords and such, [...]
Google RSS Doubles Things Up
Thanks to moving over from Feedburner to Google Feedburner, my adsense impressions effectively doubled on the first day, which is a very good thing, I think. More impressions means more possible money to be made, which is a very good thing these days.
A few bumps along the road, the number of subscribers “chiclet” went to [...]
Adsense for RSS, Couldn’t Wait
So I ended up going and setting up a NEW feed for this site which you can link to Working Hard on the Internet or via the subscribe RSS button on the right hand margin. I have redirected Feedburner to use this as it’s feed, but it will now be interesting to see what happens [...]
Wordpress Upgrade Fine and Monetizing RSS Feeds Using Adsense
The upgrade to Wordpress 2.6.1 seems to have gone ok for Canadian Personal Finance Opinions, and is running ok.
John Chow dot Com comes through again with Google Offers Adsense for RSS Feeds, which is great. I hadn’t noticed it on my Adsense page, but I am now signing up for it and hopefully this will [...]
Advertising is where the money is
As you can tell I do monetize my sites a great deal, however, I have no direct advertising income (as in, nobody sends me the money directly), I get some money from Text Link Ads and some from Adsense but that is about it. Last year, I did have some direct advertising, and it actually [...]
